What are the PADI’s Four Pillars of Change?
In short, the Four Pillars of Change define some main areas in which the dive industry, and the whole planet that faces a bit of a challenge. These main areas, or “Pillars”, include:
- Ocean Health Pillar.
- Marine Animal Protection Pillar.
- People and Community Pillar.
- Health and Wellness Pillar.

Here are several ways you can support PADI’s four pillars of change and help PADI with their commitment, starting with the most essencial one.

Do your Research
It’s very simple. It is so important to be aware of the type of impacts that PADI is trying to make, in addition to the type of areas they have defined to be their Four Pillars of Change (which we mentioned above). After applying this tip, you will discover you have taken a big step.
Begin with reading up on the topics that PADI is talking about, and continue on from there.
Once You are Aware, Spread the Word!
Another simple, but crucial tip is after making aware about PADI’s Pillars of Change, remember to tell your friends and fellow divers about them.
They may not be knowing about them yet, or you may end up having a deep discussion about ways to help ingrain the PADI Community?

Take a Specialty Course
In addition to theoretical ways, PADI has developed there are some Specialty Courses that are developed by PADI which are in line with their Four Pillars of Change, for instance the AWARE Shark Conservation Diver Distinctive Specialty course or the AWARE Dive Agains Debris Specialty.
Both of these two speciality courses are options to get to positively impact PADI’s commitments, while practicing the type of activity we all love; scuba diving.
Get Social and Connect
When you get social and connect, you don’t only help ingrain the community, which is considered one of the four pillars, but you also help in spreading the word about the Four Pillars of Change themselves.
